Hunger Games Star Will Play The Villain In The Power Rangers Movie
Everyone’s favourite mahogany enthusiast, Effie Trinket, is swapping one outrageous outfit for another. The Hunger Games actress Elizabeth Banks will play crazy lady Rita Repulsa in the Power Rangers reboot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Barbara Goodson steadily provided the voice for the Rangers’ nemesis in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, and Power Rangers in Space. Now, she’s passing the torch to Banks, who’s sure to do the iconic role justice.
Not much info has been shared about her character’s position in the film, but we’re guessing it will probably involve some plot to take over Earth. Really, what else would an evil alien witch want in life?
Banks shared her excitement for the role on Twitter. The official Power Rangers Twitter also tweeted a casting notice.
