Here’s Another 10 Cloverfield Lane Trailer To Completely Baffle Us
Certainly one of the biggest movie treats so far in 2016 was the surprise announcement, release date, poster, and teaser for the J.J. Abrams-produced “blood relative” to Cloverfield, mysteriously titled 10 Cloverfield Lane.
In less than a month (March 11, to be exact), director Dan Trachtenberg will expand the Cloverfield narrative with a film that looks surprisingly subdued compared to its 2008 predecessor. As a matter of fact, it looks nothing like a straight-up disaster flick, and more like a post-disaster character drama. Another rumour that adds to our suspicion is the film was originally called Valencia, and was later retitled and rewritten to work alongside Cloverfield.
Having lived through the previous film’s super-secretive marketing campaign and the franchise’s cryptic tie-ins, I also wouldn’t be surprised if this is all one big ruse and the film is in fact another good ol’ fashioned creature feature.
Like last month’s trailer, this one explores the rocky relationship between three survivors (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr.) holed up in a bunker after something terrible has killed everyone aboveground. See for yourself, and then really see what’s going on above and below 10 Cloverfield Lane in just a few more weeks.
